Lance MacPherson is a career mariner and Transport Canada-certified Marine Engineer. 

He has spent more than 25 years working three and four-week shifts year after year at sea, where he maintained the ships and repaired nearly anything that would malfunction or break on his employers’ coastal towboat companies from Alaska to Oregon.   

For most people, time off from work would focus on landlubber activities.  But, for Lance,  he spent a majority of his “off” time  still working on boats. 

Most of Lance’s “spare-time work” was for himself and his father, friends, and local folks who know of his passion for troubleshooting and fixing problems (especially the tough ones that other shops and mechanics could not fix). 

After so many years of leaving home for weeks at a time to be on a floating “work camp,” Lance decided to turn his vacation-time hobby into a full-time business.  That’s how Ship-To-Shore Marine Services was born in 2016.
